WHERE ARE DUCKFEET SHOES MADE?
Duckfeet are handcrafted in Europe with German terracare® leather and an Italian crepe sole. All other materials are responsibly sourced within Europe.
WHAT’S THE SOLE MADE OF?
Duckfeet are soled with 100% natural Italian crepe rubber that offers durable, natural shock absorption. The rubber grips well in most environments, but we always encourage caution on icy surfaces.
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY DUCKFEET?
A quick wipe with a damp cloth or a small application of leather cream often does the trick. For optimal care, we recommend treating your well-loved boots with our Leather Care Kit.
DO DUCKFEET HAVE ARCH SUPPORT?
Duckfeet have a neutral leather footbed without any inherent arch support. Because it’s leather, the footbed will form to the footprint of the wearer over time. If support is desired, the footbed is great for accommodating most insoles as there is no built in support to compete with an insert/insole. Note that the leather insole is not designed to be removed. If your feet are in need of a little extra support, give them some love with our Cork Insoles.
HOW DO DUCKFEET FIT?
Duckfeet have a wide toe box and use European sizes. Please visit Fit Guide for more information and to determine your size or contact us that we might help guide you in the sizing process.
ARE DUCKFEET WATERPROOF OR WATER-RESISTANT?
All Duckfeet leathers are naturally water-resistant and will keep most moisture out. However, water stains can occur after heavy saturation. If you notice water stains, take a cloth and lightly damp the entire shoe; let dry completely. Leather cream may be applied to help increase water resistance and will also help keep them in tip-top shape.

Studies show that human feet are designed to be close to the ground with the toes widely splayed, supporting a naturally aligned spine and leading to better balance and posture. A wide toe box can be a great way to support this natural design.

Since a wide toe box naturally support an aligned spine, mobility, and more, you can skip the "correction" from inserts or extra cushion. Plus, if you do rely on an orthotics or insert, the wide toe box and flat footbed provide ample room to accommodate.

Most shoes have a narrow toe box, forcing your toes to spend the entire day pressed together. This, in turn, can lead to foot problems. Our premium-quality boots start with premium materials. All of our shoes are crafted from German and Dutch cow hides that are tanned at Heinen, a fourth-generation tannery in Germany. The leather we use is called terracare® leather, which generates 30% less CO2 and uses up to 80% less water during its production. terracare® is the leading ingredient brand for responsibly manufactured leather.
This ethical, sustainable, and eco-friendly leather is then sent to factories within Europe. Here, it’s expertly handcrafted into our famous Duckfeet shoes (along with an Italian crepe sole and other European-sourced materials). This European factory, which we’ve partnered with for the past 20 years, is the last remaining of what was once a traditional Polish shoe making town. Directly from human hands to your feet, Duckfeet shoes are individually built, stitched, and boxed up in these workshop. Then they’re packaged and shipped off to you!

The leather feels incredible, thick and durable. Arhus is heavier than UGG boots, but I don’t feel the weight after I put them on. Very warm and comfortable! My feet get sufficient support from wool lining and crepe outsole.
